Aao Wish Karein which is actor Aftab Shivdasani’s
debut as a film producer bears a striking resemblance to
the Hollywood flick Big.
Mickey (Aftab Shivdasani) was on the threshold of being
a teenager. His life was almost like a fairy tale, a
beautiful family, best buddy 'Bonnie' and his angel on
earth - Mitika. Mickey was head over heels in love with
Mitika (Aamna Shariff).
If fairies walked on the surface of earth, then they
would look like Mitika. The whole neighborhood thought
the same. She was simple, beautiful and down to earth.
Did she know Mickey? No, but she did notice his wicked T
shirt. Then how would Mickey and Mitika ever become
friends? For that she would have to believe in
Fairy-tales, and eventually she did.

Aftab Shivdasani
Mickey trusted his best
friend Bonnie whole heartedly and was always seeking his
advice. Bonnie the ever helpful does so with some
positive solutions to Mickey's problems and in the
process witnesses Mickey's life become a fairy-tale.
Do you think fairies and Angels exist in cyber age? Yes
they do exist, but only if you believe in them.
Hitchcock (Johny Lever) is just another ordinary clown,
who keeps popping in at unexpected corners at unexpected
times. It is said that the guardian always can guide
you, but not choose your path for you. Hitchcock always
throws choices at you in riddles, but it’s up to you to
believe, as Hitchcock always says "If you believe in
fairy-tales, you become a part of them."
Aao Wish Karein doesn’t preach anything, it isn’t a big
budget film with superstars. It is simply an amazingly
sweet movie, which makes you laugh and cry and certain
points.
Aaftab Shivdasani acts well as a grown up with a heart
and mind of kid. Aamna is a fairy, while Johny Lever as
the angel is first-rate. Rati Agnihotri is good. Yatin
Karyekar and Rohan Shah as the kids, are full of energy.
Director Glen Barretto has handled the film quite well,
especially the scenes between Aftab and Johny Lever.
Another positive thing about this flick is that is shows
the beautiful locales of Himachal Pradesh and Goa and
appears convincing as a fairy tale.
There are several funny moments in this good and
refreshing film.

But there was a little problem. Mickey was 12 and Mitika
was 22. It was the worst day of his life when his whole
world changed. He discovered he was an orphan and his
first attempt to propose to Mitika, she called him 'a
kid'.
Mickey ran aimlessly from
the harsh reality.
Tired and drained of all
emotions he sat all by himself until an Angel Hitchcock
(Johny Lever) read his sad story from the dried up
patterns of his tears.
"Bad things happen to good people, but my dear Mickey
good things always follow". Hitchcock philosophized.
Mickey was felling so low that he wished for a Miracle.
He wished - "I want to become big". That night he walked
into his house feeling almost like a stranger, tired and
drained. He dozed off to sleep only to wake up the next
morning and his whole life changed. He woke up to a
Miracle, but was this a blessing or a curse?
