Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani, movie review

Prem (Ranbir Kapoor) is a good hearted, good natured guy who is good for nothing! Mother’s pride, father’s despair… He is the President of Happy Club! Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani movie review…

The club motto is simple; keep everyone happy and help lovers in distress. Enjoy the present don’t worry about the future. Prem and his gang go to any length to make sure two lovers get married. Even if it means getting the one he loves Jennifer married off to the one she is in love with.

Bhatke huye logon ko raasta dikhate hai
Besaharon ko sahara dete hai
Kanyaon ki raksha karte hai
Easy solutions for wife se jhagda. Friend se Lafda.

Jenny (Katrina Kaif) is a shy, sweet natured, hard working girl. She is longing to be loved. If there’s anything she loves more than books, its Rahul (Upen Patel).
Prem (Ranbir Kapoor) is an ajab kind of a guy as Life President of ‘Happy Club’, he’s always trying to make everybody happy, but somehow it always ends in a disaster.

He kidnaps Jenny by mistake. Big Mistake!! Because now Jenny thinks he’s the worst form on earth.
But he thinks she’s beautiful… She’s Vanilla Ice Cream… Yummy!!
Love can make you do the strangest things… and if Prem is Ajab, his love is Ghazab too!

He’s never worked in his life. Now he’s spending hours and hours churning out Ladoos and gying Jalebis in a Halwai Shop… Sweat and Slurp!!

He’s always been a shudh vegetarian.

Now he’s putting Tigers to shame with all the Chicken he’e eating. Chomp. Chomp!!

And as icing on the wedding cake, he even helps Jenny run away from her own wedding. Run Baby Run !!!

With a furious father, frustrated bridegroom, greedy Don and wily Politician running after them…

Prem’s Prem Kahani had an Ajab beginning. And it has a predictable ending.

Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani’s director Santoshi throws in a few subplots including one about a local politician who is a Hindu so he won’t allow his son to marry the girl he loves as she is a Christian. Little outdated isn’t it? To top it, there is an underworld don who’s targeting the said politician.

There are some portions of Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani that are so funny your sides will ache from laughing. Else, it is a silly comedy flick with slapstick gags that are hard to appreciate.

The lead pair Katrina Kaif and Ranbir Kapoor in Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani are heart throb of the nation. Ranbir is very talented and breezes through his scenes. Katrina ought to leave aside her anglicized hindi which is now enough. She is accepted by the masses in India so the English accent wont charm the audience film after film.

Rajkumar Santoshi had a winner in Andaz Apna Apna. In Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani he has brought a glossy look with a fresh lead pair which has splendid chemistry. This should also work with the masses.
