Bheja Fry 2
is the sequel to Bheja Fry (2007) which has Vinay Pathak
as the protagonist.
Good hearted but not worldly-wise, the roly-poly tax
inspector, Bharat Bhushan (Vinay Pathak) is back to
fulfill his long cherished dream of becoming a singer.
To further his ambition, he enters a game show hoping to
win a cash prize with which he can make his own music
album.
Eventually, Bhushan goes on to win the competition which
also gifts him a free stay on a cruise ship. And in the
process, he manages to find a potential love interest in
Minissha Lamba.
It is on this cruise that he meets Ajit Talwar (Kay Kay
Menon), an acrid tongued sadistic business tycoon, who
is taking sheath on the cruise to flee from the Income
Tax department.

Okay, again
this time the film established the fact that Bharat
Bhushan is still the nicest fool in the world and
despite his stupidity; he wants to make the world a
better place for everybody.
There are some good moments in the first half of the
movie which really make you laugh, and then on some of
the foolish jokes do not amuse the viewer anymore.
Vinay Pathak and Kay Kay Menon share a good chemistry as
that crackled between Pathak and Rajat Kapoor in
previous edition. Suresh Menon as the Investigating IT
officer shares childish quarrels between him and Bhushan
over the North -- South culture divide. It appears funny
the first time, but then on it irritates.

On the ship, after a string of oddball occurrences owing
to a mistaken identity, Ajit Talwar and Bharat Bhushan
wind up stranded on a deserted island. The tax-evading
tycoon Ajit Talwar, in an attempt to promptly get rid of
him, instead lands up stranding them on an island instead.
It is on the island that Ajit realizes what a pain Bharat
Bhushan is. His stupidity drives Ajit up the wall.
The story gets only interesting from here as they try
finding their way out of the island. With Bharat Bhushan
finding the way to his dream and Ajit Talwar trying to
find recluse from Bharat Bhushan and Income Tax, some more
characters add to the complexity and spice of the brawl.

The plot about Amole Gupte
as the mad RD Burman fan, and the one who prefers to
lead a savage existence in an uninhibited island with
his antiquated radio was intended to prop up the fading
charm of the original idiot, but fails miserably. As an
actor Amole Gupte is interesting but then on it just
drags. And then we have Bharat Bhushan’s uncle’s story
played by Veerendra Saxena which wasn’t funny and
instead it tests the viewer’s patience. Vinay Pathak’s
character could have been scripted on the lines of Mr.
Bean – which at least could have been funny, but it
wasn’t so.
