Rowdy Rathore

Two films cross 100 Crores plus .

The year 2012 started with a disappointing run for Players,  released on 6 Jan and collected barely 30 Crores.

A fortnight later Agneepath released and the box office was buzzing once again with a collection of  about 125 crores.  Apart from having a 4 day weekend it was excellent performances by Hritik and Sanjay Dutt which made the film enter the elite 100 Crore plus bracket.

The month of Feb was just average with only Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya collecting about Rs. 22.00 crores and Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu collected Rs. 40 crores. Jodi Breakers and Ekk Deewana Tha were dismal.

March saw the low budget Paan Singh Tomar run upto Rs 15 Crores, Chaar Din Ki Chandni and London Paris New York disappointed, Then Vidya Balan’s Kahaani came up with collections of about Rs 60 Crores. A Big hit. Agent Vinod was expected to do better, and ended up faring just above agerage. Blood Money was a success.

April began with Housefull 2 collecting about 115 crores and Vicky Donor – a surprising 40 Crores. Tezz, Hate Story and Bitto Boss failed to evoke a positive response.

The summer month of of May again began with Jannat 2 crossing over 40 Crores and Ishaqzaade overtaking it with 45.  Department and Dangerous Ishhq evoked lukewarm response.

Rowdy Rathore, released on 1 June has collected the highest this year with Rs. 130 crores and still trickling inflows continue. Sharman Joshi tasted success with Ferrari Ki Sawaari which collected about 30 crores.  Gangs Of Wasseypur has collected 22 and still counting. Shanghai and Teru Neru Jagaabu were just average,

First Half of 2012 is a little above average for the films released so far.
