Buddha Mar Gaya is all about money and its side effects.
Laxmikant Kabadiya (Anupam Kher) is a business tycoon,
whose company is on the verge of offering an Initial
Public Offering (IPO) of Rs 5000 crore. Post the IPO it
would make LK’s company one of the largest business
houses in the country. And ofcourse a lot of money
within his family too.
However, LK dies a night before the IPO opens in the
market. This leads to series of erroneous events. A holy
spiritual man, by Vidyuth Baba (Om Puri) advices LK’s
family to hide the news of his death for the next two
days, till the time the application money for the shares
would be received. In the process of hiding LK’s death,
the family undergoes a lot of dramatic, sudden and some
funny events.
A typical black comedy for the youth and the front
benchers who would "die" laughing at some funny adult
moments on adultery.
The director Rahul Rawail has managed to come out with a
decent fare though the script could have been worked
upon to block the loose ends in the story. Anyway, this
100 minutes film seems okay for time pass.
Anupam Kher, as a corpse, Paresh Rawal as the
inquisitive servant in the family are the best
performances in the film. Om Puri is good. Ranvir Shorey
needs to come out of the wooden types. Rakhi Sawant as
expected from her, exposes and titillates the audience
to the core.
Definitely not the film which could watch sitting with
your family. What does this mean? Well one can see it
oneself or with friends of course and giggle all throughout
the movie.
