Dhamaal – movie review

Fun filled caper about four unemployed guys, a murder & thrills

Dhamaal movie review

As the name suggests, this is fun filled caper about four friends – Roy (Riteish Deshmukh), who believes that he is the best detective in the world; Manav (Javed Jaffery), who actually happens to be the biggest idiot in the world, but is blissfully unaware about it, Aditya aka Adi (Arshad Warsi), “Mr. know it all” and the fourth one is “Mr. scared of everything…” – Boman played by Ashish Choudhary in Dhamaal.

They live and “work” together doing small time con jobs. They have never heard the proverb of earning an honest living.

They get a break when trying to save a dying gangster Bose (Prem Chopra) shares a secret to these four chaps about his life’s savings Rs 10 crores – which are hidden in a graveyard in Goa. Incidentally and unfortunately for these guys, it seems that the cop Kabir Nayak (Sanjay Dutt) has been chasing Bose for the last ten years. He finally finds him when he is dead!

The cop is desperate to get a promotion since long, thus he questions the suspicious looking foursome because he has found them next to the body. During the course of this question answer session and the pressure built up by this copy, the friends by mistake they blurt out the secret and then anyhow managing to escape.

But as universally knows, fools do not stay long together. The foursome quarrel with each other and decide to go their separate ways to hunt for the booty. While the funny but very sharp inspector Kabir too gets leads and reaches to the booty.

Now begins the mother of all chases! Now its five after the treasure, and then one misadventure follows after another. Some hilarious situations take place and its fun and laughter all through the end.

Riteish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi and Aashish Choudhary are a really a treat to watch. The Inspector Kabir (Sanjay Dutt) too is funny, so is Jaaved Jaaferi who is just simply outstanding in hilarious situations.

The movie has a thin storyline, which doesn’t have any twists and turns but is a hilarious situational comedy. Big Action. Big Fun, Dhamaal!
