Comical situations arising out of confusion and chaos

Dhol movie review

The movie plot of Dhol revolves around the lives of four good for nothing friends – Sam (Tusshar Kapoor), Pakkya (Sharman Joshi), Maru (Rajpal Yadav) and Goti (Kunal Khemu) all laid-back characters who want to achieve their dream without hard work or sweat. Maybe the lady luck might smile on them one day….

The four want to live life on their own terms, which eventually leads to nowhere. Instead in each endeavors, they land up in even bigger trouble instead. Things get worse as the four decide to take some desperate measures to end their misery once and for all.

The shortest route to success is to get married to a rich girl.Fortunately, to unlock their fates, arrives the rich girl Kanchan (Tanushree Dutta) who has come to stay with her grandparents in their neighborhood. Each of them plan and carry out in their individual plans to marry Kanchan but end up discovering a spine-chilling truth.

The most comic situation amongst the other well-executed sequences that will have you in splits is when the four friends, eager to help Tanushree, spray water on her house, thinking it is on fire when in reality they are having a havan puja in the house !!!

What makes Dhol work is the companionship between the four actors. Rajpal Yadav leads the show with his superb comic timing. Tusshar and Sharman are genuinely funny. Kunal Khemu has learnt that an actor has to have a good comic timing to come up in films. Tanushree and Payal Rohatgi though having small roles fit in the glamour aspect and keep the scenes colourful atleast for these four friends. Not a bad comedy movie at all.

This leads to much confusion, creating hilarious twists and turns, along with an element of thrill, crime, murder and suspense.
