5000+ Students, Super Achievers, Educators Interacted with Sri Sri Ravishankar

Bollywood actor Kabir Bedi attended the Empower gathering hosted by Art of Living Students at NSCI in South Mumbai. The actor who has also acted in several international films took off time from his busy schedule to seek blessings from the Diving Guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar.

250 Principals, Directors n Trustees from top institutions, members of Blind Indian Cricket Team,International Level sportsmen, young police officers and award winning young artists and thousands of students and young professionals got a taste of meditation with Internationally acclaimed Spiritual Guru.

April 30, 2017, Mumbai: The city hosted one of the largest youth events-Empower, in the presence of Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Founder, The Art of Living. Over 5000 students, young professionals, educationists from some of the most prominent schools and colleges in the city, and achievers from the field of sports, including the members of the Blind Indian Cricket Team, young police officers, national level Chess Champions and Gymnasts, entrepreneurs, and musicians meditated with Sri Sri and posed questions related to life, spirituality, social issues, stress, managing work, relationships and everything in between; questions which sometimes Google cannot answer.

The theme of the event was ‘Inner Peace, Outer Dynamism’. Sri Sri says that the ideal combination for youth today to feel empowered in the true sense is to have inner peace and outer dynamism, and for that, meditation is essential! He guided the audience into a wonderfully peaceful meditation. He also spoke about the urgent need to bring a shift in the education system and make it more holistic with spiritual and ethical values.

For the first time, Empower brought together about 250 principals, directors and trustees and thousands of students of some of the top schools and colleges of Mumbai who are responsible for the education of over 3 lakh students in Maharashtra. This included colleges and schools like Utpal Sanghvi, Bombay Scottish, IIT Mumbai, ICT, VJTI, TSEC, Mithibai, NM, SP Jain, JJ School of Arts, SNDT, Thakur, SIES and many more.

 

Also, 300 young achievers from the field of sports, music, entertainment and start-up gathered to inspire, share and interact with Sri Sri Ravi Shankar who founded The Art of Living and leads one of the largest global movements that has touched 370 million lives in three decades, spread over 155 countries. Some of the achievers included the members of the Blind Indian Cricket team who recently won the T20 Blind World Cup, National level players from Chess, Swimming, Judo, Gymnastics and Boxing, Young Police Officers, singers (finalists of reality TV show-Sa Re Ga Ma), classical dance maestros, Science Olympiad winners, and NGOs.

This audience was joined by over 30,000 viewers online as it went live on Facebook.

The event ended with the whole NSCI dome ringing to the proud sounds of our National Anthem!

Many decision makers shared that they would like to have meditation as a part of the curriculum so that their students can get a stress-free, violence-free mind.
