A comedy about friendship and romance

Kisse Pyaar Karoon, movie review

John (Aashish Chowdhry), Sidh (Arshad Warsi) and Amit (Yash Tonk) are inseparable friends in Kisse Pyaar Karoon. Their life is full of fun, frolic and adventure. But sometime the destiny cannot fathom the smooth sail. Hence it introduces twists and turns to the happy goings only to usher in some trauma and some drama.

John is deeply in love with Natasha (Aarti Chabria), but he dare not tell her, “I love you.” She leaves the country on world tour. John is devastated.

The three friends start a band. They perform at marriages. John is so sad that he starts singing some sad lines when the two are singing a happy song.

Sidh and Amit hit upon a plan. To make John forget Natasha, they bring sex worker Julie (Shweta Menon). But it does not work. Then they introduced him to glamorous Sheetal (Udita Goswami). John and Sheetal hit off very well. She entices John and he is totally captivated and falls for her. He is all the time with her and is not interested in continuing with the band with his friends.

Sidh and Amit find out that Sheetal has an evil design to usurp all the wealth of John.. So now it is their responsibility to save this friend from this girl.

She creates problems and hurdles in their friendship. Sidh and Amit realize her game and plan to foil the same. They decide to bring John back, but John is in her full grip and refuses to budge.

Arshad and Yash try all the tricks in the trade to get back, but it does not work. Udita is too smart for them and she has her own plans.

To save John, Sidh and Amit embark on an ambitious ‘Save John Operation’. Sheetal retaliates with full venom. Sidh and Amit without any ammunition fight back with all the weaknesses at their disposal. Sidh and Amit kidnap Sheetal and tell John that she is dead.

John is again devastated. Here, Natasha returns from her trip. She too confesses that she has also been in love with John. When John and Natasha are about to unite like lost souls, Sheetal reappears on the scene.

Then starts the fun… Kisse Pyaar Karoon….

Kisse Pyaar Karon has good production values, fine cinematography by Najeeb Khan and just okay music from Music director Daboo Malik. However, choreography by Ganesh Acharya and Bosco Ceasar’s is good.

Performance-wise Arshad Warsi walks through his part. Aashish Vidyarthi and Yash Tonk are okay. The sultry Udita Goswami gets a meaty role and she does it well. Aarti Chhabria looks charming and impresses, Shweta Menon is seductive. Shakti Kapoor and Ashish Vidyarthi again are just okay enough for their parts. .

Ajay Chandok’s direction in Kisse Pyaar Karoon shows technical competence and a flair for comedy but the film disappoints despite having some twists and turns and a happy ending.
