This is an International Award Winning reality film,
Based on the Best Selling Novel "Carnage by Angels"
written by I.P.S. Officer Y.P.Singh. It won the Silver
Award in the Narrative Film Category of the California
Film Awards in 2010.
Most of the scenes in the film were shot at authentic
police locations in Mumbai, Pune and Daund.

The head constable who
imparts the training blurts out some startling
revelations followed by an honest confession about his
involvement in the largely corrupt activities in the
detection branch of Kotwali Police Station. A single
incident changed this head constable's life and he has
given up corruption and resorted to honesty.
The fresh IPS officer and his wife make a resolution
instantly - not to resort to unethical means, not to
earn bribes in the police. This straightforward attitude
earns him acclaim in his first posting in the district
police force in Kolhapur.
It is when he is transferred to Mumbai police, there the
realities of life stared at him. Raghu Kumar discovers
the nexus of police, bureaucrats, power-brokers, and
politicians.

The director Yogesh Pratap
Singh was an officer of the Indian Police Service - 1985
batch, Maharashtra Cadre. During his stint in the Police
Service, he experienced various stormy positions in the
police force. Right from the first posting he developed
a reputation for tough policing, conducting raids and
clampdowns on a daily basis.
Having dealt with high profile scams, his efforts
initially were commended by the higher-ups, but soon
this honest cop ran into trouble with the politicians
since his investigations had exposed some uncomfortable
facts and as expected, he wasn't willing to turn a blind
eye towards it.
Coming back to the film, it
traverses through the corruption in Police with a
special emphasis on Mumbai Police.
Kya Yahi Sach Hai is the story of Raghu Kumar, who
begins as a young trainee Indian Police Service (IPS)
officer where he is shown around his new jurisdiction
while cycle patrolling in the streets.

As the story unfolds, what
emerges in the film is a graphic narration of intrigue,
deceit, sex, love and money in the world of glamour,
police, bureaucracy, politicians, citizens, corporate
bodes, powerbrokers, doctors and media.
Those in power and the influential began to feel the
heat. Raghu Kumar shunted to insignificant postings
while his contemporaries received accolades, medals and
promotions.
A bold film with a realistic story which has never been
attempted in bollywood before. A commendable thing about
this movie is that the director has taken care of every
detail about the functioning of the Police Force in
Maharashtra, its training activities, the atmosphere of
the police training camps, its postings and protocols
which have never been shown in the Indian cinema.
This movie is a revolutionary step in film-making. It
would just be seeing and believing!
