Ah! A film at least the Band Baaja Baarat fans have
been waiting for and talking about. A much awaited
venture by the Yash Raj banner.
The entire team of BBB is back together after a year for
Ladies v/s Ricky Bahl.. Its Maneesh Sharms’s second as a
director, and after the super hit BBB, a lot was
expected from this movie, and he could have done better
with this film.
The movie stars three other actresses apart from Anushka
Sharma, Parineeti Chopra, Dipannita Sharma, Aditi Sharma
as the “Ladies” of the film.

Now speaking of our very
lovable “CON MAN”; MR. RICKY BAHL himself. Ranveer
Singh; he is a brilliant actor and has done a very good
job in the film. He plays all the five roles so
convincingly that each character has its distinct
identity. He is simply charming just as his character is
supposed to be.
Coming to the technicalities; story of a con man Ricky
Bahl charming women and getting away with their money,
it shows the intelligence of his character; the way he
cons them and he builds up the characters with the help
of set ups for making a convincing role for his targets.

Ranveer singh plays 5
characters, out of which four are “fake” and the fifth
character is that of Ricky Bahl. He plays Sunny; a gym
trainer in Delhi; who romances Dimple Chaddha (Parineeti
Chopra), a brash 19 year old Delhi college girl who
falls in love with her fitness trainer – Sunny Singh,
who ultimately cons her.
Then he plays the role of Deven Shah, who organizes
exhibitions for art lovers and in this process cons the
elite corporate “lady” Raina Parulekar (Dipannita
Sharma), a 28 year old independent and successful
corporate woman in Mumbai.
Then comes his role of a Lucknow man where is becomes
the shy Iqbal Khan - who cons Saira Rashid (Aditi
Sharma), a 24 year old sweet, hard working widow.
Vikram Thapar from Goa; this is his final character
where he decides to con the girl who is out to con him ,
Ishika Patel (Anushka Sharma).
Speaking of the three
“ladies” of the film- Parineeti, Dipannita, and Aditi do
a good job in their roles. A special mention about this
girl Parineeti Chopra, she is outstanding in the role of
Dimple.
The “PERFECT OPPONENT” ANUSHKA SHARMA plays the role of
Ishika Desai a.k.a. Ishika Patel. Her character
resembles the one she played in BBB and Badmash Company
but yet it is different. The on screen chemistry she
shares with Ranveer Singh persists .Although having a
nominal presence, she has done justice to her character
with her trademark acting.

A chance encounter brings these three women together who
vow to take down Ricky Bahl and get their money back.
The game is set in Goa. The rules will be made as they
go along. and then the story turns and takes you till
the end.
Its script could have been tighter but its still a notch
above the other average bollywood flicks, nevertheless
it is an entertainer, albeit the interaction between the
lead pair is brief.
Overall, the direction is
good but fails in some segments, especially the in Goa ,
it tends to get slow and audience looses interest. Music
of the movie is good with certain songs like Thug le,
Aadat Se Majboor and Jazbaa are making it to the top of
the charts! Screen play and production quality of the
movie is of a truly Yash Raj banner.
Barely a film old, and in his second film Ranveer Singh
rocks in parts, with Ladies v/s Ricky Bahl he has
established himself as a dependable hero.
Ladies vs Ricky Bahl is the entertainer for the weekend.
It deserves a 3 star rating merely for the handsome hunk
Ranveer Singh.
