Mukta Searchlight's Love Express is a romantic comedy
tracing the journey of two parallel love stories in a
train full of Baraatis from Amritsar to Mumbai. A young
couple on the way to their own wedding wants to
break-up, while the other couple wants to make up after
a five-year-old break-up.
The first couple on the train traveling from Amritsar
toMumbai decide to go against their parents wishes and
break the arrangement to solemnize their arranged
marriage. They want to break their wedding because it's
an arranged marriage – arranged by their parents who
have been friends for decades - but they are definitely
not amenable to an arranged marriage and would prefer to
find their own match. So they hatch a plan and are
successful but at a heavy cost to their families.
Is it too late for them to
make amends? A series of situations with several twists
and turns take place during this fun-filled and eventful
journey on Love Express - a joyride through a Punjabi
wedding on wheels that makes you laugh and touches your
heart.
The train is shown as carrying the wedding party which has
its typical collections of uncles and aunts, nieces,
nephews and oddball characters who are expectedly loud as
it is supposed to be a Punjabi wedding entourage.
The writer makes use of all the already well known
ingredients of hit comedies in his script but it is just
an ordinary film. There is Inter-caste marriage and the
usual tension and comedy situations between the two
families. It is supposed to be enjoyable train journey
with a few Punjabi Sikh characters trying to make you
laugh with their funny expressions.

Will their parents and the elders allow this rebellion?
Are the youngsters making the right decision?
Love express is a low-budget romantic comedy intended as a
launch vehicle for the young talents. The major portions
are shot in a ’speeding’ train and this amateurish feature
film is created from the in-house talent of Whistling
Woods - the acting school promoted by Subhash Ghai.
There is also a parallel love
story, a clever old man who is flirting around and that’s
it.
With most of the lead actors and technicians including
debutant director Sunny Bhambhani being alumni of
Whistling Woods' first batch, Love Express is a Subhash
Ghai presentation of a Mukta Searchlight production and is
set to release 10 June 2011.
