Starring: Randeep Hooda, Sadaa Sayed, Rituparna
Sengupta, Divya Dutta, Riya Sen, Kalpana Pandit, Sonali
Kulkarni and Jesse Randhawa
Director: Srinivas Bhashyam
The protagonist Randeep Hooda plays a bachelor who comes
across several females in his life. He interacts with
each of them, but still isn’t clear about which is the
right one with whom he would settle down and spend rest
of the time in his life.
Vir Pratap Singh (Randeep Hooda) is just an average good
looking man in his mid twenties. He isn’t the Casanova
type nor does he sport 6 packs and so on. He is just an
usual Indian male.
Vir has come from a small town and now works in a
five-star hotel in Mumbai. Like most of the guys at his
age, he flirts and yearns for any woman who comes across
him.

Performances from the talented Rituparna Sengupta is
just average and so is Kalpana Pandit. Jesse Randhawa is
really the international cat-walk model types, while
Sonali Kulkarni has performed the role of a maid very
well. But it is Divya Dutta who impresses the most. The
prettiest woman in the film is the actress from the
south – Sadaa.
Now comes the protagonist Randeep Hooda. He displays
versatility and abundant talent. He is just the opposite
of the stud-boy type roles done before. Definitely all
the bachelors would identify with him and his “type” of
thinking.
Love Khichdi is a good subject given best of the
talented actors, but if fails to meet the expectations
of an adult entertainer.

To start with, in his house itself it is the maid (Sonali
Kulkarni) whom he fantasizes with, as she swabs the
house floor, or his neighbour the married Punjabi woman
(Divya Dutta) to the man-eating call center lady owner (Kalpana
Pandit) who is the wild and commanding type to an extra
tall and pencil-thin model (Jesse Randhawa), the Bengali
Beauty and the types. He is like a child let loose in a
chocolate factory where it is confused with which brand
of chocolate to start with.
There is also the mini skirt-wearing schoolgirl Riya Sen,
but eventually he finds true love in Sadaa Sayed.
Yes, he does come close to falling in love with a woman
(Rituparna Sengupta) and eventually does find true love
as well (in Sadaa Sayed). The only female that he
avoids.
The interesting part of
“Love Khichdi” is that it shows exactly how a male and a
female would react if thrown in the same situation.
