Pramod Chakravorty's grandson Prateek Chakravorty directs this romcom

Debutant Director Prateek Chakravorty, who carries forward the legacy of his late grand father Pramod Chakravorty who produced and directed thrillers and romantic mega hits in 80s and 90s. (From Sydney with Love – movie review)

It was a dream coming true for Meghaa Banerjee (Bidita Bag), a small town girl in West Bengal, India when she earned a scholarship from the prestigious University of New South Wales in Australia to pursue her Masters degree in Economics.

New South Whales University, where she becomes a part of the group of friends Raj Baksi (Prateek Chakravorty), Rohit Khurana (Sharad Malhotra), Lubaina Snyder (Evelyn Sharma), Suhail Syed (Karan Sagoo) and Kalpana Chatterjee (Reshmi Ghosh).

Coming from a conservative middle class background, life and culture in Sydney was an instant eye opener for her. Under guidance of her caring cousin Kalpana fondly called “Kol”, Meghaa slowly embraces Sydney where she not only makes new set of friends but also adapts to her new life here.

Life becomes interesting, more so exciting, until one day she parties hard and in a drunken state she ends up sleeping with Rohit. Its okay for her as they are already in love, however unapproved by her conscience, she heads back to Kolkata, and then Rohit has to follow her all the way to convince her that it was true love between them.

Love and romance was something that was strictly not in her agenda of things. However being young at heart it was just something waiting to happen to her when she met Rohit, a fellow student in the University with whom she starts gelling right from the word go.

So the story is such that Rohit loves Megha, and Megha loves Rohit. But there is Raj who loves Megha (one sided). And the cute Lubaina loves Raj (one sided again). Isn’t this enough to give you an idea of what to expect further in this supposed rom-com, which is more towards the genre of romance.

This romantic fare does not have any impressive songs.

A positive thing in this film is that the characters are fresh and then it seems too many people falling in love with each other, unknown of the fact whether their love is reciprocated. This seems a bit of a weird phenomenon.

It’s love, romance and lots of fun until a fateful day where she must choose between her two worlds. Can her two worlds ever meet? Is there a “happily ever after” in store for her?

FSWL is a quirky, emotional and endearing love story spanning across two hemispheres in a somewhat impressive entertainment extravaganza.
