Deepika Padukone makes an impressive debut in Hollywood with this action film. Its not only that Indian girls win international beauty contests, this Bollywood actress has fortified the belief that Bollywood actresses can now make a mark on the international entertainment industry.

xXx: Return of Xander Cage is the third film in the xXx franchise. The earlier ones being xXx (2002) followed by xXx: State of the Union in 2005 in which the character of Xander Cage was supposedly killed.

The style and music of this installment is similar to that of the original films with a heavy dose of extreme stunts, now added attraction is that of heavy metal soundtrack.

Naturally, the film belongs to Vin Diesel who plays the central character – Xander Cage, an extreme athlete turned government operative who was believed to be long dead. He comes out of self-imposed exile to help the CIA in his latest mission.

Xander Cage is recruited by the CIA to race villain Xiang (Donnie Yen) to recover a powerful weapon known as “Pandora’s Box” which can control satellites and could be used against any target having the potential to cause catastrophic damage.

Much to his dislike, he is given a group of CIA trained commandos to assist him in the mission. Like in typical filmy style he drops them mid-air and then seeks out to recruit a group of thrill-seeking cohorts, a sharpshooter and a hacker.

During the operation, Xander finds himself caught up in a deadly conspiracy of corruption among world governments including insiders in his own country’s government.

Vin Diesel enthralls and entertains, Deepika Padukone skilfully executes her stunts (which appear realistic) while the other ensemble cast comprises that of Hongkong actor Donnie Yen, Kris Wu – the Chinese born Canadian actress, Ruby Rose – an Australian model-actress and Tony Jaa – the Thai martial artist.

This one is definitely a treat for action lovers and xXx fans.
