The movie
shows a lounge bar in Mumbai by the name "Mumbai Salsa"
where the principal characters meet and their lives
change forever.

The movie
isn't everyone's idea of entertainment. It works at
places, and doesn't at times. After "Life In A Metro", "Saalam-e-Ishq"
and "Honeymoon Travels", "Mumbai Salsa" too is a multi-starrer
based on dysfunctional relationships among young Indians
working in different corporate houses.
The film shows how the race of life changes people's
perceptions and why they spend more time in pubs and
nightclubs apart from their offices and homes. Mumbai
Salsa is one such pub in Mumbai where the lives of these
characters change for ever.

It attempts to portray the lives of
eight friends in the metropolis in the most realistic
manner. The 8 young guys n gals played by Vir Das,
Amruta, Manjari Fadnis, Raymond Irani, Indraneil
Sengupta, Dilip Thadeshwar, Neelam Chauhan and Linda
Arsenio are also making their debut in the film.
It is a film about dysfunctional relationships among
young Indians, has given a great platform to eight upcoming actors who now
see themselves in new light. Subject of this movie and the
lingoes are targeted at the yuppie crowd which could
restrict the film's appeal to select metros of India or
those living abroad.
Mumbai Salsa takes a look at
the varied relationships that exists within the young
corporate India. Not too long back, an average Indian was
laidback, content and had ample time for love, life and
relationships. But times have changed!

The director has handled the emotional moments well. Adnan
Sami's music, though not exceptional is fair. 'Chhoti Si
Ilteja', seeped in melancholy, is the best track. Its
rendition by Adnan Sami is brilliant as well.
Cinematography by Kalpesh Bhandarkar is just adequate. The
film introduces a number of new talents, all of whom are
quite promising and amongst them the ones who register an
impact are Vir Das, Manjari Phadnis, Ray Irani and Amruta.
For the first time singer
Alisha Chinai is doing an item number on the title track
in the film.
While Adnan Sami has scored the music for the film, Sameer
has penned the lyrics. Kunal Ganjawala, Amit Kumar, Sami,
Chinoi, Gayatri Ganjawala, Shreya Ghoshal and Shaan have
sung songs in the movie.
