Raaz - the Mystery Continues, directed by Mohit Suri
is a horror flick starring Emraan Hashmi, Adhyayan Suman
and Kangana Ranaut. Raaz 2 is not a sequel to the 2002
movie Raaz which had Bipasha Basu and Dino Morea in the
lead.
The film is based on the myths and superstitions that
are still widely existent in the contemporary Indian
society. The film challenges the beliefs on paranormal
phenomena. Emraan Hashmi plays a painter, who is gifted
with intuition where his paintings tell unforeseen
future events.
A beautiful model Nandita (Kangana Ranaut) is in love
with Yash (Adhyayan Suman) who presents the reality show
"Andhvishwas" on television. Yash's show exposes various
superstitions of ghosts and tantric voodoos.
Once, at a shopping mall,
Prithvi (Emraan Hashmi) an aspiring painter who is in
search of his masterpiece sees Nandita and keeps his
stare on her. Prithvi now tells Nandita that he made a
painting of hers some months before which shows Nandita
is lying with her wrist slit and bleeding.
Prithvi warns Nandita of any
type of danger, much to her annoyance and disbelief.
However, Nandita accidentally slits her wrist due to an
unknown ghostly attack on her in bathroom. Prithvi
arrives on nick of the time and takes her to hospital.
Much to Yash’s surprise he is informed that Nandita was
pregnant and it’s a miscarriage now due to excessive
bleeding. Nandita then tells him about Prithvi, who
stalked her and thus Yash. Yash gets Prithvi arrested
but later is released since there was no solid grounds
to keep him behind the bars. Instead Prithvi had saved
Nandita’s life.

Now the frequency of being
possessed gets more often and the possessed Nandita this
time writes those words on her bathroom mirror. After
this incident, Nandita realizes that something is really
wrong with her and she goes to Prithvi for help.
Meanwhile Prithvi, through his intuition paints another
picture where Nandita is shown hanging with those words
boldly written on the wall behind her.
Though initially not keep to help Nandita as she had
complained against him, Prithvi gets himself ready to
help Nandita and she is saved by Prithvi from getting
herself killed in her bouts of being possessed.

Nandita resumes her normal life and her modeling career.
Prithvi just gets an intuition and paints another picture
of Nandita where she is mobbed and taken away. Some days
later Nandita performs at a fashion show, and Prithvi
hunch gets stronger and he runs to a fashion show where
Nandita gets possessed and she attacks a Spiritual Guru
who was attending the show. She suddenly screamed at the
guru "Tum ashudh Ho, sadh chuke ho".

Prithvi and Nandita commence
their journey to find out the reasons behind her getting
possessed by a spirit and this journey leads them to
Kalindi in Himachal Pradesh in North India. The beautiful
Kalindi is efficiently photographed and even the
horrifying moments are effectively thrown in. Moments like
visions of dead people hanging on trees, the attack of
wild bulls on their vehicle.
It is a tight suspense film which has some hair raising
moments.
Kangana Ranaut is a talented girl. She is striking as a
model in the film, and she acts true to life even in those
scenes where she is possessed and the trauma which a
possessed individual goes through. Emraan Hashmi has
delivered an excellent performance. Shekhar Suman’s son
Adhyayan Suman with his convincing performance has proved
that he is here to make a mark in Bollywood. Mohit Suri’s
direction is praiseworthy.
