Good-for-nothing brothers meet their match

Rafoo Chakkar - Fun on the run, movie review

Love life, enjoy life and live life to the fullest – that is exactly the mindset of 4 central characters in Rafoo Chakkar – Fun on the run. Pappu (Yudhishtir), Munnu (Aslam Khan), Millie (Nishal Rawal) and Jullie (Nauheed Cyrussi) from the upper crust of society. Though they belong to different towns and have never met, when forced to get married by parents they RUN AWAY…

The film opens with the brothers gatecrashing a beauty contest dressed up as drag queens, with a sole purpose of getting near to indulging in some smooching with the pretty contestants. Unfortunately, their father is the chief guest at the function where one of them trips on the ramp and they are exposed. What else now, the dad wants to get them married, and these boys don’t.

On the run, the good-for-nothing brothers Pappu and Munnu meet and get attracted to the cute looking Millie and Jullie not realizing that they are the same girls with whom their fathers had fixed their marriages. Just when everything was going right for the 4, they are robbed and are on the roads but for Millie-Jullie and their lucky fate they meet Kokila and Koena (Archana Puran Singh and Mita Vashist) who help and rescue them. Kokila-Koena are sisters who are in their mid forties and who hate men and they never want to get married.

But fate takes another turn. Kokila and Koena’s father, who wanted his daughters to marry, dies leaving his entire property in the hands of trustees managed by Dilkhush (Shakti Kapoor) and Hasmukh (Sadashiv Amrapurkar) making a will which has a catch.

Here, Pappu and Munnu are completely broke. Having no options left, they plan a robbery at Kokila-Koena’s house not realizing that the old ladies are karate black belts and the boys get caught red handed.

The CATCH of the boys, and the CATCH in the dead man’s will pours further confusion and force the unbelievable to happen…

Both Pappu and Munnu are compelled and forced to get ‘married’ to Kokila – Koena while their love story is blooming with the girls.

What follows next on Rafoo Chakkar – Fun on the run is an unsuccessful attempt towards creating hilarious comic situations flooding the innocent lives of Pappu and Munnu with chaos and confusion.

Rafoo Chakkar – Fun on the run appears like a pale copy of Sanjay Dutt-Govinda ‘Haseena Maan Jayegi’. It is an unimpressive mindless comedy where even Shakti Kapoor and Sadashiv Amrapurkar fail to impress in comical roles.
