Back in India, in his small village in Punjab there is our Happy Singh (Akshay Kumar), a simpleton, good natured sardar who is always ready to help anyone but ends up in a chaos, resulting in a lot of trouble and destruction.

Even his best friend Rangeela (Om Puri) is disgusted with his misdeeds, more so the village is unable to bear the chaos caused by Happy. They all love him for the fact that he always helps others and is a very kind person. Yet, everyone else would want Happy to be away from the village to save themselves from any more trouble so they decide on a plan to send him to Australia to get  Lakhan Singh back to India.

In a strange turn of events, Lucky the don is saved by Happy, while risking his own life. Due to a freak accident the don is paralyzed and a misunderstanding leads Happy to become the King. The Rose Lady is expecting her daughter who happens to be Sonia along with her boyfriend Puneet (Ranvir Shorey). Sonia is under the impression that her mother is very rich and to fix this temporarily, Happy helps her and tries to set things right. He is stunned to see his Sonia as this lady’s daughter. We then have the action and fun then onwards while Happy Singh turns the Lucky’s gang members to turn into good human beings.

Cinematography is in fact good in this colourful and glossy film. There are some good songs the title song – Singh is King, Teri aur and the one shot in the picturesque Egytian locations. Akshay Kumar is just amazing in the appearance of a Sardar. The hot looking Katrina Kaif is appealing and is good in her expressions and dialogues. Neha Dhupia, though in a short role, is sizzling. Sonu Sood has an expressive presence, while others are just apt in their performances. It is nice to see Javed Jaffrey in this film.

About two-thirds of the movie was shot Gold Coast region and Brisbane in Australia, with active involvement of the Australian production team. There is action, fun and beautiful locales of Egypt and Australia in this entertaining film.
