‘Family pressure’ leads Manu to Kanpur to meet Tanu the
quintessential small town girl who has studied in Delhi.
Tanu is a smart, intelligent girl who will do everything
that her parents will disapprove. With a mind of her own
and a love for rebellion, Tanu is dead against an arranged
marriage.
Manu is a smart intelligent caring, shy & the sweet NRI
boy who is what makes a perfect ‘husband’. Educated and
settled in London, but lonely. He would never do anything
that his parents would disapprove of, and dreams of a
sensible quite and homely wife. He likes reading,
listening to old Hindi songs and hates loud music and
crowded places.
Tanu is a beautiful charming and extroverted girl, who
defies anything which is ‘by the book’. Lives life by her
own rules and dreams of marrying any guy who her parents
will hate. A Bachelor in Arts graduate from Delhi
University, she loves fast bikes, tattoos, alcohol (neat)
and hates Social norms, being told what to do, especially
the Indian tradition of arranged marriages.
In her first meeting with Manu, Tanuja Trivedi (Tanu)
appears drowsy as her parents claimed that since is ill so
therefore she had taken sedatives.

Thinking of returning to London, Manu’s old friend Pappi
takes him to their friend Jassi’s (Eijaz Khan) marriage in
Punjab. To his surprise, Manu again comes face to face
with Tanu who is present there as a friend of Payal (Swara
Bhaskar) - Jassi's bride-to-be.
They become friends, and then have some misunderstanding
and so on….
But destiny holds something totally different for these
dramatically diverse personalities. Their paths keep
crossing time and again and weave this wonderful story
through the Indian heartland.
Tanu Weds Manu appears to be a clean family entertainer
which should go well with the audiences as it has a fresh
romantic pair apart from excellent performances by the
characters.
