Get set for one of the quirkiest love stories of the
year!
Ugly Aur Pagli is about Kabir (Ranvir Shorey) who is a
happy go lucky, laid back guy who takes life at his own
sweet pace. How else then can one describe such a
character who he has been doing his engineering since
the past 10 years. Seeing other couples around him, he
desires to have a girl to love…
It is also about Kuhu (Mallika Sherawat).
Soon, Kabir realizes that he
has fallen in love with this sizzling girl, but does not
have enough courage to express his feelings. But Kuhu
suddenly disappears and ends up in Kolkata which sets
Kabir on a locating mission. What happens from there
forms the rest of the story.
Mallika Sherawat perfect portrays the wild and whacky
shades and surprisingly, is even better in the emotional
scenes. Ranvir Shorey’s advantage is that he isn’t the
chocolate faced guy. His boy next door looks and his
mastery in acting is amazing. Tinnu Anand and Sushmita
Mukherjee look worn-out. Zeenat Aman who is almost not
visible, could have chosen a better film for her
comeback. It has the catchy song "Main Talli Ho Gayi"
from music director Anu Malik.

Never had Kabir imagined
that his life would go for a sixer until he meets the
quirky and kinky Kuhu. He had always longing for a girl
to love but he never in his wildest dreams thought he
would encounter a girl who could make him dance around
circles, run semi naked, ride cycles without seats, wear
high heeled ladies shoes...
Kabir who has literally been on slumber suddenly finds
himself in the middle of a roller coaster ride wherein
he has to come up with some of the most ridiculous
situations, with the arrival of Kuhu in his life.
This dynamic, aggressive and cranky girl would not stop
at doing the weirdest things in life. This scares the
hell out of Kabir and the more he wants to get away from
her, the more close she gets to him.
It has an interesting
concept in the first half, especially how their paths
meet. It is a disappointment in the latter half where it
becomes repetitive.
