Arunima (Tena Desae) is the daughter of one of the
biggest builders in town, Devinder Dua (Anupam Kher).
She is happy to be home after finishing her studies.
Arunima returns home after a long stint in boarding
school. Life is great for Arunima who is looking forward
to a pleasant time with her father but also misses her
mother and wishes that she were alive.
She finds contentment in the fact that her mother and
father loved each other and were happy for as long as
they were together. Her father is generous and loving
but slowly Arunima discovers that his version of how her
mother died isn't the whole truth.

The father has hidden many aspects of his troubled
marriage from his loving daughter – like how he and her
mother met in college and how a Rajasthani princess fell
in love with a "Jath-mazdoor".
Arunima begins to investigate and finds herself torn
between her love for her father and her duty to her dead
mother. There is a spooky house in a hill station where
the incident happened.
Arunima is torn between love for her father and the
truth. The man she loves the most is the man she now
mistrusts. She is living in a shadow of too many
secrets...
Hence Arunima sets out on a journey to find the truth
about her mother's and father's past.

Dev Dua is a gregarious man who loves his daughter a lot,
but has a dual personality of being loud and boastful
sometimes, and then a kind and understanding person at
other times.
However, one day to her surprise, Arunima finds a "will"
written by her mother which makes her question why a woman
who died at an early age of 28 in a car accident would
leave a will for her daughter. The presence and the
essence of the will intrigues Arunima and with her father
avoiding all questions to do with her mother, further
frustrates her.
She slowly realizes that her mother's personality was
quite different from what she has been told and the past
wasn't as happy as she imagined it to be.
With questions unanswered and suspicions raised, Arunima
is left in doubt about what really is the past. She is at
a loss, as she learns that the man she loves the most -
her father - has many shades that she was unaware of.

Will this search for truth make the bond between the
father and daughter stronger? Or will it take her to
reveal a sinister figure behind the facade of a loving
father?
Arunima sets out to uncover the distance between the past
and the present.
Anupam Kher has portrayed the complexities of a man who is
passionately in love with his wife and yet deeply insecure
about it. Fine actors like Pavan Malhotra and Seema Biswas
do not have any scope. Tena Desai is a talented and a
charming girl who is marvelously restrained.
Director Yogesh Mittal has tried his bit on making it a
thriller or then a murder mystery and then just a family
drama. This is where the interest wanes off. The film does
show repeated flashbacks and there are flashes of
substance and form, but on the whole it could have been a
tight thriller.
